Hey look, there’s a giant mountain over there! I had some fun on my trip to Bend. Went to get an inverter diagnosed, and spoiler, ended up with some new batteries. Continue reading Giant Mountain!

Arrival and Getting Stuck
I got to Seaside Oregon today, and promptly got stuck. Spent some time on the beach, diagnosed an inverter issue, and am staying the night at Dismal Nitch. Continue reading Arrival and Getting Stuck
A day in the life
Fixed a cabinet hinge, waited out a rainstorm, did some computer work, staying in an overflow parking lot for an old-folks home. Just a day in the life. Continue reading A day in the life
Normal?
As I’m standing in the rear door of my camper, I can’t help but wonder, “How weird am I?” How many other people can say that on a random Wednesday night they’re in the parking lot of a high school they didn’t know existed a few hours ago with the intention of staying the night? I’m sure this kind of idea pops up for every RVer at some point, or at least the strange ones like me that are somewhat untraditional. Continue reading Normal?
Early Departure
I moved up my schedule and left a day early. That’s one thing I love about RV travel: scheduling. If I want to leave early or stay late, it’s not a big deal. No airline tickets to change, no car rentals, hotel bookings. My planned route is to go through Denver, Salt Lake City, then eventually into Oregon. This evening, I find myself at a JCPenny parking lot in Ponca City (half way between Oklahoma City and Wichita (36.72842,-97.06562). Continue reading Early Departure
New Fridge
On my recent NC trips, I noticed the fridge had a hard time keeping any kind of reasonable temperature. Once I arrived at my destination and switched to AC power, it would do fine. I figured this had something to do with driving in 90+° temperatures and having the fridge generally in the sun. Nope, the gas portion of the fridge was about half-way dead. Continue reading New Fridge
Return of the Camper
Tomorrow I’m heading back to NC to pick up my camper. When loading the trailer with all of the household goods that were being transported, it ended up being too front-heavy. As a result, I had to leave the camper behind otherwise I would have exceeded the cargo capacity of the truck (but not the GCVW). Continue reading Return of the Camper
Moving Adventures
Today I’m in North Carolina, helping family with the move to Texas. The finances cleared showed that having me help move was better than renting a pod or a moving truck, and I was itching for some travel, plus I’m here to help with moving things, so it all works out. Continue reading Moving Adventures
Life in Tyler, TX
It’s been a while since I’ve posted, and that’s basically because I haven’t been doing anything directly RV-related. After getting the power and water turned on, there were still a bunch of other little things to do before really settling in, and that took some time. Now that I’m settled, I figured a posting was in order. Continue reading Life in Tyler, TX
Getting Established
I arrived on Monday, and I’m slowly getting set up. I’m exceedingly thankful that I have the truck camper, it’s proving invaluable in the last couple weeks. Honestly, I have no idea how people move everything they have across the country without one of these. Continue reading Getting Established
