I came to the RTR in Quartzsite to meet some new people, escape MN winter for a while, and enjoy the sense of community. Mission accomplished. The last 24 hours have been perfect. Continue reading Mission Accomplished!

Construction Updates
Now that I’m finally in a place where it’s warm enough to do construction work, and I have the room, I’ve been working on a few projects. The loft has been completed, batteries have been caged, solar has been installed, and a lot of tidying up has been done. Continue reading Construction Updates
I made it!
I arrived at RTR around 5pm local tonight. Took the bike, rode around for a bit to find a good spot to park, moved the rig, unhitched, and started getting settled in. I’m exhausted. Continue reading I made it!
Organ Mountains
Today has been a well-lived day! Adventures from dawn to dusk, and a nice quiet place to lay my head to sleep tonight. It’s all good. Continue reading Organ Mountains
Good Day of Driving
Got a bunch of miles in today, the weather cooperated, and all mechanical systems are working like they should. The weather is even starting to get better. I also have a few thoughts about driving conditions, and my return trip. Continue reading Good Day of Driving
Quiet Travel Day
It’s been a quiet travel day today. No check engine lights, no near death experiences, just a lot of time on the road. Weather, although rather cold, has been mostly agreeable. Continue reading Quiet Travel Day

I’m utilizing a backup plan for today. I’m currently in a Super 8 Hotel, enjoying the luxuries of thermostatically controlled heat, unlimited electricity and unlimited hot running water. Continue reading Heat vs Moisture
Windy Day
Not going anywhere today. Wind is blowing the trailer back and forth while I’m sitting on the couch. I’m going to sit this one out. Continue reading Windy Day
Rain, Rain, Fog
It’s been a busy day. Early start, stop for a shower, install lighting, various weather delays, a check engine light, and fog during rush hour in a new city. Continue reading Rain, Rain, Fog
Day 1
It’s been a good day today. Left the house around 9am and after running some errands, I formally hit the road at 10am. The truck and trailer behaved well today. I’ve started limiting my speed to 50mph, and that seems to work quite well. I basically set the cruise, turn on the podcasts, and just handle the various random wanderings of the truck and trailer as other vehicles pass and random wind gusts come along. Continue reading Day 1
