Not going anywhere today. Wind is blowing the trailer back and forth while I’m sitting on the couch. I’m going to sit this one out.
Winds are anywhere from 20 to 40mph right now, there’s no way I’m traveling today. It looks like the winds won’t die down sufficiently for travel until about noon tomorrow.
Unfortunately, I’m not going to get far enough south to avoid a cold front that’s moving in. I just purchased a spare 20lb propane tank, so at least I’ll be able to keep warm. I still need to do something about power though, as all of my devices are starting to run low and I won’t be charging them up in the truck today like I have been. I don’t have the solar panel mounted yet either, so although I could hook up the battery bank, I’d be drawing them down with no way to recharge them. I may end up doing that anyways if I get too bored.
I have a feeling I’ll make several more trips into the walmart that I’m parked at, if for nothing else than to get out and walk and alleviate boredom.
Tomorrow should be better weather for traveling, and I’m hoping I don’t have too many more weather delays on this trip. For today though, it’s going to be pretty quiet.
Glad you are battening down the hatches and staying put. Keep your doors locked. Walmarts usually have plenty of food in various formats: deli stuff comes to mind. They also have facilities….
Maybe reading an old fashioned turn the paper pages book would be an alternative to drawing down your power supplies?
I have considered the dead-tree option, and it may come to that. We’ll see. I enjoy jerry-rigging stuff a bit too much though, I’ll probably come up with some kind of solution. I enjoy the challenge.
